A journey that will introduce you to the greenest and most fertile regions of Western Georgia. You will find picturesque canyons, ancient palaces, family wineries, citrus orchards of Samegrelo and Adjara, walks through national parks, tastings of local wines and traditional Georgian cuisine.
Day 1. Welcome to Tbilisi — getting to know the soul of Georgia
Meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
After the accommodation, you will get acquainted with the ancient and modern capital of Georgia, Tbilisi.
• Narikala Fortress is a symbol of the city with a panoramic view of the capital;
• The famous sulfur baths and the historic district of Abanotubani;
• Peace Bridge and Rike Park;
• Rustaveli Avenue — the main street of the city;
• Chronicles of Georgia — an impressive monumental complex
• Climb Mtatsminda Mountain, offering a breathtaking view of Tbilisi.
In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner at the restaurant with dishes of traditional Georgian cuisine and folklore program.
Overnight in Tbilisi.
Day 2. Tbilisi — Zugdidi
Departure towards Samegrelo, one of the most distinctive regions of Georgia, famous for its ancient traditions, winemaking and subtropical nature.
Balda Canyon is one of the most picturesque natural places. Walk along the emerald river, waterfalls, suspension bridges and scenic viewing platforms.
The village of Salkhino, the birthplace of the famous Ocaleshi wine.
• a walk through the vineyards and get acquainted with the technology of winemaking in Kvevri;
• Visit to the family marani and wine tasting of Ocaleshi and Tsolikauri.
Transfer to Zugdidi and have dinner at one of the famous Samegrelo restaurants with national dishes
Overnight in Zugdidi.
Day 3. Zugdidi — Dadiani Palace, Megrelian cuisine and citrus gardens
After breakfast, you will begin exploring the main cultural heritage of Samegrelo.
Dadiani Palace, one of the most beautiful princely residences in Georgia. A palace complex with a historical park, ancient alleys, rare trees and plants
The main gastronomic event of the day is a visit to the family home, where guests will be introduced to the traditional cuisine of Samegrelo.
• master classes on cooking kharcho, elardji and beans in Megrelian style;
• Megrelian cuisine , farm cheeses and desserts;
• tasting of homemade tinctures and liqueurs;
A trip to the family citrus garden
• getting to know the cultivation of lemons and oranges;
• participation in harvesting and tasting of fresh fruits;
Overnight in Zugdidi.
Day 4. Zugdidi — Chakvi
After breakfast, departure to Adjara.Along the way, you can enjoy beautiful views of the subtropical forests, mountain rivers and tea plantations of Western Georgia.
Mtirala National Park is one of the greenest corners of the country. A relic forest, a mountain river, a picturesque waterfall, a suspension bridge and panoramic views of the mountains.
The main event of the day is a visit to a family citrus farm, a farmer's lunch and a culinary program.
• Stroll through the citrus orchard and pick tangerines ;
• homemade dishes, tastings of homemade wine, cognac, chacha and liqueurs
• master class on making Ajarian khachapuri and khinkali
• introduction to wine technology in Kvevri
Overnight in Chakvi.
Day 5. Batumi Botanical Garden, Peter's Fortress and wines of Adjara
After breakfast— a trip along the Black Sea coast.
Batumi Botanical Garden is one of the largest botanical gardens in Europe. Japanese garden, tropical plants, eucalyptus groves, bamboo alleys and panoramic views of the Black Sea.
Peter's Fortress is an ancient Byzantine fortress of the VI century. A walk through the fortress and get acquainted with the history of the region;
The end of the day is a visit to the family winery
• guided tour of the winery and acquaintance with the traditions of Adjara winemaking;
• tasting of Chhaveri wine, local wines and farm cheeses;
• lunch with national dishes of local cuisine
Return to Chakvi.
Overnight in Chakvi.
Day 6. Shekvetili, Sataplia and return to Tbilisi
After breakfast— return to Tbilisi.
The Shekvetili Arboretum is an oasis of nature, where an atmosphere of harmony and tranquility reigns. Ancient trees, rare plants from all over the world, lakes, birds and animals.
Lunch at one of the best restaurants serving Western Georgian cuisine.
Visit to the Sataplia Nature Reserve. Famous dinosaur footprints, a walk through a karst cave, an observation deck with a glass floor
After completing the program, return to Tbilisi.
Transfer to the airport.
