Georgia Tour: 6 days, 5 nights — Author's itinerary for Tbilisi, Kakheti, Georgian Military Road and South Georgia


This tour is a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the best that Georgia offers: ancient history, picturesque natural landscapes, wine and delicious cuisine. We offer a carefully thought-out itinerary that covers the capital Tbilisi, the Kakheti wine region, historical sites and magnificent natural monuments.


Day 1: Tbilisi — car and walking tour


Old Town Walking Tour (about 3 hours):

You will start the day with a walk through the ancient streets of Tbilisi. Your guide will tell you about the rich history of the city, take you through key historical sites, including Anchiskhati Church, baths and the famous Peace Bridge that connects old and new Tbilisi. You will immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the city, where traditions, culture and modernity are combined.


Cable car ride to Narikala City Wall:

The old city of Tbilisi is located at the foot of the mountain, on which stands the fortress of Narikala. We will take the cable car up to enjoy the panoramic views of the city, the Kura River and the surrounding hills. From the top of the fortress, there is an amazing view of Tbilisi and its historical districts.


Monument History of Georgia:

One of the most impressive monuments of Georgia, dedicated to the most important events and figures of Georgian history. From here you can enjoy the views of the old town and the breathtaking panorama.


Rustaveli Avenue:

Tbilisi's most famous street, which is home to theaters, museums, shops and restaurants. During the walk you will be able to get acquainted with the cultural and intellectual center of the city, see famous buildings such as the National Museum of Georgia and the Opera House.

Day 2: Kakheti region — Wine tour and visit to historical monasteries


Wine tasting:

Kakheti is a wine—growing region of Georgia, known for its traditions and unique varieties of wines. We will go to one of the local wineries, where you will be introduced to the technology of wine production and offered a tasting of different varieties, from which you will have an unforgettable experience.


Cheese and bread tasting:

Cheese and bread are an integral part of Georgian cuisine. We will try a variety of local cheeses, as well as traditional Georgian puri bread, which is prepared in ovens with a special baking method.


Chacha Tasting:

Chacha is a traditional Georgian strong alcohol made from grape pomace. We will visit one of the local wineries to taste this unique drink, which is a true symbol of Georgian culture.


Bodbe Convent:

Bodbe Monastery is the holy place where Saint Nino, the enlightener of Georgia, rests. This monastery has a special spiritual significance for Georgians and attracts pilgrims from all over the world. The monastery is surrounded by picturesque gardens and offers stunning views of the Alazani Valley.


The city of love Sighnaghi:

Sighnaghi is a beautiful city that is called the "city of love" due to its romantic atmosphere and ancient streets. It is located on mountain terraces and represents a unique combination of history and nature. We will walk along the fortress walls and enjoy the views of the valley.


Lavish dinner and wine and chacha tasting at the Chateau:

The evening will be welcomed at one of the best wineries in the region, where you will be offered a gourmet dinner with traditional Georgian dishes, as well as a repeat wine tasting and chacha.


Overnight at the Chateau.

Spending the night in one of the wine-growing houses of Kakheti, where you can enjoy the comfort and atmosphere of rural life.


Day 3: Continuation of the trip to Kakheti and return to Tbilisi


Chavchavadze House Museum:

We will visit the house museum of one of the most famous Georgian writers, Alexander Chavchavadze. The museum will tell about the writer's life and work, as well as about the culture and everyday life of Georgia in the 19th century.


Premium wine tasting:

We continue the wine route by visiting the winery, where premium wines are offered. You will learn about the secrets of winemaking and taste the best varieties, which often do not go on mass sale.


Ice cream tasting:

Let's try the traditional Georgian ice cream made on the basis of the fermented milk product matsoni, which gives an unusual taste.


Overnight in Tbilisi.

Return to the capital of Georgia. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 4: Journey along the Georgian Military Road


Ananuri Fortress:

We will start the day with a visit to the magnificent Ananuri fortress, located on the shore of the Zhinvali reservoir. The fortress was built in the 16th century and is one of the most famous historical monuments of the region.


Zhinvali reservoir:

The reservoir is stunning in its beauty, surrounded by mountains. This is one of the most visited natural places in Georgia, and you can take beautiful photos here.


The confluence of the White and Black Aragvi:

A natural wonder where two rivers meet — the White and Black Aragvi. This place attracts tourists with its picturesque nature and unusual sight.


Gudauri Ski Resort:

Gudauri is a popular ski resort located on the Georgian Military Road. Here you can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery.


The Arch of Friendship:

The Friendship Arch is one of the most beautiful viewing platforms on the Georgian Military Road. It offers a breathtaking view of the Caucasus Mountains.


Gergeti Temple:

We completed our journey by climbing to one of the most beautiful and highly located temples in Georgia, the Gergeti Temple. From a height of 2,170 meters, there is an incredible view of Kazbek.


Return to Tbilisi.


Day 5: Mtskheta and Borjomi


Mtskheta:

We will visit the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta, which is the most important religious and historical center of the country. We will see Svetitskhoveli Temple and Jvari Monastery.


The ancient city of Uplistsikhe:

Uplistsikhe is an ancient cave city that was founded in the first millennium BC. The remains of temples, residential buildings and water systems are located here.


Borjomi Park:

A beautiful natural park famous for its mineral springs. This is a great place for walking and relaxing in nature.


Stalin's House Museum (optional):

We can visit the Joseph Stalin House Museum in Gori, where we will get acquainted with his life and work.


Return to Tbilisi.


Day 6: South Georgia — Nature and monasteries


Dashbashi Canyon (optional):

A natural canyon with unique geological formations, waterfalls and picturesque landscapes. This place is ideal for nature lovers and photographers.


The convent is still:

A monastery with a calm and peaceful atmosphere. This is another important religious place for Georgians.


Lake Paravani:

We finish our tour at the high mountain lake Paravani, surrounded by picturesque views.
