A week in Georgia

7-day tour of Georgia


This tour will give you an unforgettable experience of traveling through the historical and natural beauties of Georgia, getting acquainted with the ancient culture and traditions of this country, tasting Georgian wine, as well as the opportunity to participate in workshops on national crafts and dances.


First day — Tbilisi: History, workshops and views of the city


Meeting in Tbilisi. Your tour will begin with an immersion in the atmosphere of an ancient city where ancient traditions and modern life are intertwined. We will start with a walk along the streets of Chardin and Leselidze, which reflect the spirit of old Tiflis with its narrow streets, cozy cafes and unique architecture. This is one of the most beautiful and colorful districts of Tbilisi.


Visit to the sulfur baths area. This historic quarter, famous for its sulfur springs, will immerse you in the atmosphere of the ancient city. You will be able to see the famous baths and enjoy a unique view of the old town.


The Peace Bridge and the cable car to Narikala Fortress. We will visit the famous Peace Bridge, which is a symbol of modern Tbilisi, and then climb the cable car to see the city from the height of the Narikala Fortress, where you will have a breathtaking panoramic view of Tbilisi and the Kura River.


Mtatsminda funicular ascent. We will end the day with a funicular ride to admire the incredible views of Tbilisi and the surrounding area.


Overnight in Tbilisi.


Second day — Mtskheta: Biblical history and ancient monuments


A trip to Mtskheta. Mtskheta, one of the oldest capitals of Georgia, rightfully bears the title of "the second Jerusalem", as the chiton of Jesus Christ is kept in this city. We will start with a visit to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, famous for its religious significance. This 11th century temple is the most important center of the Georgian Orthodox Church.


Jvari Temple. Then we will climb the mountain where the Jvari temple is located — one of the oldest and most important Christian churches in Georgia, built in the 6th-7th centuries. It offers a magnificent view of the confluence of the Aragvi and Kura rivers.


Shio-Mgvinsky monastery. We will visit a medieval monastery built in the 6th century, which is one of the most famous monasteries in Georgia.


The ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe. This ancient fortress city, founded in the pagan era, is one of the first cultural centers in the Caucasus. Here you will see theaters, halls of Queen Tamara, shopping streets and even a wine cellar, which was used back in the 13th century.


Return to Tbilisi.


Day three — Kakheti: Wine, history and culture


Departure to Kakheti, the birthplace of Georgian wine. We will go to Kakheti, which is known for its vineyards and winemaking traditions. Our first stop is Bodbe Convent, where the grave of Saint Nino, the enlightener of Georgia, is located.


The city of love is Sighnaghi. Next, we will visit Sighnaghi, which is called the city of love. Everyone can get married here around the clock, and the city itself is famous for its picturesque streets and magnificent views of the Caucasus Mountains.


Wine tasting:

Kakheti is a wine—growing region of Georgia, known for its traditions and unique varieties of wines. We will go to one of the local wineries, where you will be introduced to the technology of wine production and offered a tasting of different varieties, from which you will have an unforgettable experience.


Cheese and bread tasting:

Cheese and bread are an integral part of Georgian cuisine. We will try a variety of local cheeses, as well as traditional Georgian puri bread, which is prepared in ovens with a special baking method.


Chacha Tasting:

Chacha is a traditional Georgian strong alcohol made from grape pomace. We will visit one of the local wineries to taste this unique drink, which is a true symbol of Georgian culture.


 


Alexander Chavchavadze House Museum. In Tsinandali we will visit the house museum of one of the most famous Georgian noblemen. This place was a cultural center of the 19th century, where great poets and writers such as Pushkin, Lermontov and Dumas gathered.


Return to Tbilisi.


Fourth day — Georgian Military Road: Fortresses and mountains


The Georgian military road. Today we will have an exciting journey along the picturesque Georgian Military Road. We will start with the Ananuri Fortress, a historical monument that was an important defensive fortress in the Middle Ages.


Gudauri and Kazbegi. Next, we will go to the famous Gudauri ski resort and visit the Friendship Arch, which offers stunning views of the mountain peaks. We will continue our journey to the village of Kazbegi, where we will take jeeps up to the Gergeti Monastery (Holy Trinity), which is one of the most popular attractions in Georgia.


Return to Tbilisi.


Day five — Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe: Resorts and fortresses


Borjomi. We will go to Borjomi, a famous resort famous for its healing mineral waters. A walk through Borjomi Park and a dip in the hot springs will give you an unforgettable experience.


The medieval fortress of Rabat. We will also visit the Rabat fortress in Akhaltsikhe, founded in the 16th century. This place is a testament to the history when Akhaltsikhe was under Ottoman rule.


Transfer to Kutaisi. In the evening we will go to Kutaisi for an overnight stay.


Sixth day — Sataplia and Martvili: Natural wonders


Sataplia Nature Reserve. On this day we will visit the Sataplia Nature Reserve, which is famous for dinosaur footprints, as well as karst caves and a glass observation balcony overlooking the mountains.


Martvili Canyon. We will also see the Martvili Canyon, a unique natural formation with waterfalls and incredible landscapes.


Transfer to Batumi.


Seventh day — Batumi and Adjara: Wine, waterfalls and nature


A walk along Batumi Boulevard. In Batumi, we will walk along the famous boulevard along the sea and visit several historical and cultural attractions.


A trip to mountainous Adjara. Next, we will go to the Keda area, where we will taste unique wines made from local grape varieties. Therapeutic mineral waters and a sauna are also waiting for us.


Mahuntseti Waterfall and Queen Tamara Bridge. At the end, we will visit the Mahuntseti waterfall, surrounded by greenery, and the ancient bridge from the reign of Queen Tamara.
