The first day
Departure to Racha
Today our way lies to one of the most picturesque corners of Georgia, to the homeland of Khvanchkara - Racha.A land that you can't help but fall in love with at first sight. These are magical mountains with picturesque landscapes of deciduous forests and cliffs, with many caves and interesting rocks.
On the way to Racha, we will visit the ancient capital of the Georgian kingdom, Mtskheta, founded in the 5th century BC.The history of the founding of the city goes deep into the Biblical era, which is why Mtskheta is called the second Jerusalem in another way.
Svetitskhoveli Cathedral was and still remains the center of religious life and the main attraction of Mtskheta. The Cathedral of the Twelve Apostles is the first and main church in Georgia, whose name is traditionally translated as "life-giving pillar". It is one of the largest temples in the country and chronologically the first in Georgian temple history. It is believed that the chiton of Jesus Christ was buried in the ground in this place, and subsequently a cedar tree grew here, which became a sacred tree for local residents.
On the mountain opposite Mtskheta, at the confluence of the two rivers Aragvi and Kura, we will visit one of the oldest monasteries in the country of the 6th-7th century, the temple of Jvari. It is absolutely impossible not to notice Jvari, it is visible from all the surroundings of Mtskheta, which is not typical of Georgian temples. Jvari is a symbol of Georgian temple architecture and an important stage in its difficult history.
Upon arrival in Racha, we will stop and settle in the town of Ambrolauri.
The second day
Today, our route will pass through the beautiful Nakerala pass, where the peak of the Rachinsky range, Mount Tskhradzhvari (mountain of the "Nine Crosses"), whose height is 1565m, is located. The panorama that opens from the lower observation deck is already quite enough for a flurry of emotions, but you can climb higher to the very top.There is a clearly visible path leading to it. At the top of Tskhradjvari are the ruins of an ancient temple, where nine iron crosses are installed. The tenth, the most massive, cross is placed at the highest point. . A trip to Tskhradjvari can be attributed to the mandatory routes when visiting the Rachinsky region. The views that open from the highlands cannot be described in words. There is always a persistent feeling of nature's victory over civilization.
Just beyond the Nakerala Pass, Shaori Lake, its slopes are covered with coniferous forests and alpine meadows. The air is intoxicating and intoxicating, it smells of herbs and forest, separately with a needle and separately with a leaf, each bush breathes its own breath, the turquoise of the water surface fascinates with the beautiful bottomlessness of the reflected sky.

The third day
As we continue our journey, we will visit the mountainous Racha region at an altitude of 1,840 m above sea level, where the village of Mravaldzali is located. The most beautiful mountains, the purest springs, and the medieval temple of Mravaldzali, which is richly decorated with ornaments and bas-reliefs. The temple was destroyed in the earthquake of 1991 and was recently rebuilt.The temple is considered a place of power, hundreds of people from different regions of Georgia come to it.
Laylashi is a small but picturesque village in Georgia, located in the Rachi-Lechkhumi region, on the western coast of the Rioni River. This is one of those places that captivates with its natural beauty and unique atmosphere. Lailasi is famous for its scenic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys
The sheer pool is one of the unique and unusual places that attract the attention of travelers.
The synagogue is a unique historical monument, which is one of the most important attractions in the region. The synagogue was built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is a beautiful building made in the traditional Jewish architectural style, with characteristic elements such as arched windows, decorative elements and wood carvings.
Laylashi is ideal for those who are looking for peace and quiet, away from the noisy tourist centers.
The Sakinule Cave, a natural refrigerator hidden in the forest part of a rocky gorge, is interesting to visit. The cave got its name from the biting cold inside at any time of the year.
The Temple of the Mother of God- Barakoni (XVIII century), located on a steep cliff at the confluence of the rivers Rioni and Luhuni and perpetuated the name of the creator Avtandil Shulavreli. On the hill of the opposite shore, the ruins of the ancient Mindatsikhe castle, where Queen Tamara spent her childhood, are visible.

The fourth day
Return to Tbilisi .
On the way, we will stop in the city of Kutaisi and visit the Motsameta Temple. The surroundings of the temple are literally surrounded by greenery of trees that have grown here above the roofs of the monastery buildings. The domeless temple of Motsameta, founded at the beginning of the XI century by Tsar Bagrat III, is also called the Monastery of Saints David and Constantine. Here you can see all the beauty of the green mountains, listen to birdsong, breathe fresh air and just relax your soul.
On the other side of the canyon from the Motsameta Temple, we will visit the Gelati medieval monastery of the Virgin.The center of church and cultural life, the residence of the Catholicos from the 2nd half of the XVI century to 1814, a World Heritage Site. The monastery was founded by King David IV the Builder in 1106.Gelati is a branch of the Kutaisi State Historical and Ethnographic Museum.
